From solo artist Adam Rose, based in Pittsburgh, PA, comes the new album ‘Crucible’, a collection of 13 tracks recorded in his home studio. After suffering from illness for nearly a decade, he battled through debilitating symptoms to complete his first album in nine years. Taking on the many roles needed to accomplish the task of finishing an album of full-band tracks and learning the ropes of engineering along the way, this album attests to his musicality and dedication.

Crucible has one common theme throughout, namely guitar playing, appearing on all of the album’s compositions. The tracks are widely varied in terms of style and mood, and were recorded with several types of electric guitars as well as steel-string and nylon-string acoustics. From the chimy delay at the outset of the album to the anthem-like finale, the tracks cover all types of terrain along the way from aggressive blues rock to sweet solo fingerpicking, and from high octane country flair to flirtation with the modes of the Middle East. In terms of composition and execution, Crucible is an impressive feat of an album from start to finish.
